Join us on Monday, May 11th for a family-friendly evening on the farm at Growing Gardens, hosted in partnership with Slow Food Boulder County and the Museum of Boulder as part of the Boulder Eats series. This hands-on event invites families with kids to explore where food comes from, meet the people

Time & Location
May 11, 2026, 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Growing Gardens, 1630 Hawthorn Ave, Boulder, CO 80304, USA
About the Event
Spend the evening tasting, playing, and learning alongside Farmer Kim Whalen, a nationally recognized school garden leader and 2025 United Nations Global Leadership Award recipient. Kids will make bean necklaces to plant at home, explore the garden on a scavenger hunt, create art, and sample what’s in season. Along the way, you’ll pick up simple, practical ways to help your kids connect to their food.
We’ll also have a food truck, a tasting table, and Growing Gardens’ spring plant sale for anyone who wants to bring a little of the garden home. Come curious, come hungry, and come ready to explore the farm together.

Farmer Kim Whalen is the Founder of Grow Garden Grow and a leader in the North Texas School Garden Network, helping schools and communities build thriving, educational gardens. A former public-school teacher, she has spent over a decade bringing garden-based learning into classrooms…
