Happy 40th Birthday - thank you for championing local food
In 1987, a small group of farmers set up tables in Boulder with a simple idea: connect people directly with the food grown in their own community. Forty years later, the Boulder County Farmers Market has become one of the most treasured institutions in the region — and it's still showing up every week.
Visit the market every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning in Boulder and Saturdays in Longmont. They bring together the farmers, producers, music, artists and neighbors who value community and local food.
Lafayette Farmers Market
Now in their 2nd year in Boulder County, the Lafayette Farmers Market occurs every Sunday from 9am - 1pm from May - October

Colorado Grain Chain
We’re proud to support the Colorado Grain Chain, which works to strengthen every link in the local grain system—from seed savers and farmers to millers and end users. By fostering collaboration among these stakeholders, they help ensure that locally grown, nutrient-rich grains reach our tables while preserving agricultural heritage and building a resilient food system.
Rye Resurgence Project
Though not in Boulder County, the RRP aligns with the mission of Slow Food Boulder County. One recent spring, as Dust Bowl conditions spread across the Valley and many families wondered how to keep their multi-generational farms intact with declining aquifer levels, a big idea was created:
“What if we build on the relationships our farm and others have with rye consumers to grow the market and cause a resurgence in demand for San Luis Valley rye?”
