About the Event
Join us for a special hands-on cooking class with engineer, educator, and culinary storyteller Carmen Pacheco, as we explore the rich history and technique behind one of Mexico’s most beloved dishes: the chile relleno.
Born in Nogales, Sonora, and now a faculty member at CU Boulder, Carmen’s journey spans from the kitchen to the classroom. She brings a unique blend of engineering, food systems knowledge, and cultural heritage to her teaching—showing us that food is more than sustenance; it’s a story worth sharing.
In this immersive class, you’ll learn how to make chile rellenos from scratch using local, seasonal ingredients, while discovering the deeper history and cultural roots of the dish. Best of all—you’ll get to cook, connect, and enjoy the meal you make together.
Come hungry—for food, knowledge, and community.
