Supporting those who grow for us

Farmer Education Fund

The Farmer Education Fund helps our local growers access the training, workshops, and professional development they need to help grow their businesses and thrive.

By easing the cost of classes, conferences, and skill‑building opportunities, the fund strengthens our Boulder County food system and supports the farmers who nourish our community.

What is the fund?

We created the Farmer Education Fund because the people who grow our food deserve every opportunity to keep learning, connecting, and strengthening their craft. Farming in Colorado isn’t easy! Our weather swings drastically, water scarcity is a major issue, and rising costs from on everything make it harder each year. Yet our Boulder County farmers continue to show up with resilience, curiosity, and a deep commitment to feeding our community.

We wanted to support our farmers so they can attend workshops, classes, and conferences that could help them adapt and thrive, but the cost often stood in the way. This fund helps remove some barriers. It’s our way of investing back into the hands and minds that sustain our Boulder County food system.

Slow Food believes farmers should be able to access the knowledge, skills, and networks that keep good, clean, fair food growing in Colorado.

Our Partner

Alpine Bank partnered with us on the Farmer Education Fund because they believe in strengthening the local food system from the ground up. Their support helps ensure that Colorado farmers have access to the training, skills, and opportunities they need to grow resilient businesses and nourish their communities. It’s a partnership rooted in shared values community, stewardship, and investing in the people who feed us.
